Insanity…. doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Financial Services organisations must therefore be deemed ‘insane’. Despite their belief and intention that change programs are new and unique, materially they are doing the same thing again and again. The biggest problem, amongst many, is that they start from the wrong perspective. Everything is viewed from their own point of view. The perspective is inside-out rather than outside-in.
Having an inside-out view repeatedly prevents successful change. Organisations are set in their view that they are already doing the right thing, and so it follows that they seek to improve the efficiency of what they already do.
