This video is the seventh in a series of highlights from the Leaders Summit event on 10th March 2016 at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre, Westminster, London. John Seddon introduces Vanguard’s Patrick Hoare, who outlines a key element of the Vanguard Method: the relationship between management thinking, the design and management of work (the system), and performance.

In Part 1, Patrick describes this relationship and shares some of his early experiences working in financial services, reflecting on the design and management of work and the underlying thinking.

In Part 2 below, Patrick highlights how management thinking in financial services has changed and how this change has impacted performance. You’ll also hear from leaders at Lloyds Bank International, who have applied the Vanguard Method to understand their current management assumptions and changed their thinking to drastically improve performance.
