In the mid 1980’s we learned how organisations that pursued ‘Quality’ strategies failed because their command-and-control beliefs dominated. These beliefs permeate everything and are an insidious disease.

The same is true for the Vanguard Method. If leaders don’t understand the conceptual shift their behaviour will quickly undermine any gains and, more disturbing, everyone in the organisation who has ‘got it’ will lack respect for the leaders that haven’t.
