In recent years Prince 2 has become the ‘must have’ competence for change management. It is believed that change cannot be even contemplated without project management.
The first version of Prince 2 began life in the 1970s and it was thought to be the answer to this problem: how to project manage large-scale IT solutions. It got adopted as the project management standard by the UK government.
Reflect for a moment: Have you seen any improvement in large-scale lT solutions over the past 30 years?
What does that tell you about the value of Prince 2?
What does it tell you about the prejudice that change requires project management?
